Cyanogenmod 9 on the Nexus S 4G

I have recently updated my phone to Cyanogenmod 9 (CM9) and am loving it! Ice Cream Sandwich is so much easier to use than Gingerbread (which itself was a major improvement over previous versions of Android, mind you). The user experience is so much smoother and looks beautiful!

Anyway, this isn't a review of Ice Cream Sandwich versus Gingerbread (maybe later?). This is mostly about CM9 on my phone. I am running the nightly build of CM9, specifically update-cm-9-20120411-NIGHTLY-crespo4g.zip. This means that it is an experimental version that may be buggy. It is the latest that the developers have gotten the software but may be untested. That being said, it has been more stable and reliable than CM7 based on Gingerbread was! With CM7 I had crashes nearly every day and sometimes multiple times a day. CM9 has crashed maybe once in several weeks. It is very stable.

There are a few settings menu items that are empty, notably Themes. These will come in later editions. Other than that I don't know any reason why this software isn't in a final version.

P.S.
If you were wondering what the file name means; not sure why update, maybe something to do with the way the installer works; cm-9 is obvious; 20120411 means April 11, 2012; NIGHTLY was explained above; crespo is Cyanogenmod's code name for the Nexus S line of phones, and 4g is the Nexus S 4G.
